It has officially been 9 days since we moved into our new home and we have accomplished so much in that short time span! Today I wanted to share a few pictures of our renovation process and some before photos of the space. These pictures are from the day of closing through about a week ago when we moved in. We have continued to make improvements on our home all the while. Now that most of the painting and woodworking is done, my favorite part has begun: decorating! I love interior design as much as I love fashion. I believe I am a pretty creative person, and I love the challenge and opportunity decorating this home has provided me. As I complete each room I will be posting a dedicated blog post to it, complete with a source list! So stay tuned for that! For now, enjoy some images of our very dated cape as it goes from the 80s up to present day!
the pink living/dining room ^^
Sean tearing up some carpet and prepping the new hardwood ^^
our “cheery” yellow kitchen with oak laminate and oak cabinets ^^
I was removing all of our cabinet fronts to take paint them
giving the living room a fresh coat of white paint
we ripped up the first layer of laminate to discover even more! The week long wait for our hardwood to acclimate was excruciating for me haha
giving the kitchen counters a marble effect with some dc-fix contact paper. this stuff is amazing and looks like real marble when it’s all done!
Here is how our kitchen looked on move in night. Not done, but functional. We still don’t have our new dining table (but it’s on the way from Pier 1) so we have been eating in shifts at the island!
I hope you all have enjoyed looking at some of the before pics! I can’t wait to share the “afters” soon!
